This tool was designed to gain access for removal andreplacement of the shift selector shaft seal on G.M. rear wheel drive transmissions. Part number 96480 works with transmissions that have the neutral safety switch around the transmission shift selector which requires a longer tool to remove and replace the seal. This tool works on all 1996 and later trucks and Astro/Sierra Vans, 1998 and later GM SUV’s includes Denali, Envoy & Escalade with transmissions 4L60E and 4L80E.
