Some power cables use stranded wire in efforts to create a larger conductor for more power. CCTV security camera systems could benefit from such wire for this and other reasons. At high transmission frequencies, currents that travel across power wires can cause a decrease in power; in addition, wires that work around metal and corrosive material tend to work less efficiently.
