When Sophie the orphan decides to get out of her dormitory bed during the witching hour little does she know how her life is about to change. Luckily for her she is snatched by the only nice giant in Giant Country – the Big Friendly Giant. Sophie is whisked away to the BFG’s cave where she is introduced to snozzcumbers and frobscottle as well as coming face to face with the not-so-friendly giants Fleshlumpeater and Bloodbottler. During a series of exciting adventures in which they enlist the help of the Queen of England Sophie and the BFG hatch a clever plan to save all the girl and boy human beans from being eaten by the loathsome giants.
