XTRweld RG60 is a molybdenum-alloyed, general-purpose, non-copper-coated welding rod designed for oxyfuel gas welding of most low-carbon and low-alloy steels. With its high tensile strength and clean weld profile, RG60 is ideal for structural applications that demand toughness and reliability. Like RG45, this alloy was originally developed for oxyfuel welding and can be used for TIG welding in certain cases. However, due to a lack of de-oxidizers required for the GTAW process, TIG use is generally not recommended. No external flux is needed. The puddling action of the molten metal brings scale and impurities to the surface, ensuring a cleaner weld.
