BattlePlugs Dual Mode Impulse Earplugs are authorized hearing protection for soldiers and Department of the Army civilians. They are ideal for hunters or workers subjected to occasional sharp sounds and provide two levels of hearing protection depending on how they are worn. The patented BattlePlugs use a unique filter built into the plug body to instantaneously reduce dangerous, sudden impulse noises. When the plug is in, the reusable earplugs have a noise reduction rating (NRR) of 24. When the inner plug is removed, the BattlePlugs allow for easy communication and improved awareness while still maintaining a NRR of 9dB. This protects against impulse noises, like gunfire, while still allowing the wearer to hear low level noise.
