These awning window hinges are constructed of steel, and they are protected with a corrosive-resistant E-Gard coating. The mounting plates and link arms attach to the jamb legs and side stiles of the window sash. Once installed, these hinges are concealed from view from both the inside and the outside, but may require a special rabbet or plow for proper mounting onto the sash. These types of concealed window hinges can be used with crank-out and push-out awning windows, tilt-in hopper windows and transom windows. Friction adjustable set screws are provided with these hinges, which convert the free-gliding hinges to friction hinges, commonly used on push-out windows to hold open when slightly windy, and to prevent “bouncing” of sash when closing an awning window. These hinges mount at the sides of awning windows. Installation fasteners are included with each pair.
