The chains are pre-tensioned and hand lubricated to guard against wear and tear, stretching and down time. The patented Centri-Lube design moves oil to the cutters and rivets as it’s being used, reducing drag and friction that exerts wear and tear on the saw. The chain is made up of a series of cutters with a tooth that digs in to remove wood and rakers that maintain an optimal cutting depth. The design specifications of the tooth and raker ensure smoother operation as the chain cuts through wood. There are two main types of cutters with either semi-chisel or full chisel teeth. Semi-chisel teeth have rounded corners and are recommended when cutting conditions are dirty or the is wood frozen from cold temperatures. Semi-chisel teeth stay sharper longer under those conditions. Full-chisel teeth have a square corner and deliver greater efficiency when cutting, making them the preferred choice If the wood is clean.
